Hi everyone

I graduated last month. Now I have 2 options to move forward in the upcoming 15 months

1. start a year long internship during which I won’t be able to focus on steps or usce (hence increasing my yog by 1 year when I apply to my first match cycle 2029) due to long hours but this would give me my home country permanent license

2. skip the internship and focus on step 2, step 3 , USCE and research and apply for match 2028

I keep getting a change of heart between the 2 options . Which would be a better option moving forward?

My passport is set to expire in may 2028. I’m aiming to apply for b1/b2 visa at the end of 2026 and planning to visit US between may-August 2027. To avoid a visa rejection, for how long should my passport be valid. Should I use the same passport to apply for visa or should I get a new passport before applying.
