Do Not Sign Initiative #234 or #66 (362-367)!

Something really bugged me about how aggressive the canvasser was, so I looked these up and find the pitch deceiving.

Initiative #234 is pitched as making legislation accessible for disabled voters. It would amend the Colorado Constitution to require all state and local ballot questions to be written in plain language at no more than an 8th grade reading level. Two issues with this: the average neurotypical person comprehends at a 7 to 8 grade level, so this would not benefit our neurodivergent neighbors. It ALSO would allow for intentional vagueness or misinterpretation of legislation. The initiative does not explain how reading level would be determined or the process for rewriting/resubmitting.

Initiative #66 (Variations 362-367) requires voters to verify their social security number on mailed ballots. At least one variation requires the last four digits of your social be visible on the OUTSIDE of the envelope. I shouldn't have to explain what that is such an egregious violation of privacy and personal info. SSN is already woefully unsecure as it is.

ETA: Small corrections.
