I'm doing a presentation on Silence in postmodern music (what it its effect, how is that achieved, how it related to postmodern issues, etc.), and was wondering if anyone here knew of any contemporary pieces that use silence in a meaningful or interesting way (approx. after the 1980s)? Hello! I'm working on a pretty big Ableton session and have been encountering a very frustrating problem: every time I press play to listen back, Ableton just stops responding to my actions (clicks, keyboard shortcuts - anything). It doesn't "freeze" like can usually happen - the screen is the exact same, it just doesn't respond to anything and keeps playing for a good minute or two. I can't even display the Ableton window from the taskbar on top of another window - I have to reduce all the other windows to be able to see Ableton.
Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem is / any suggestions as to how to fix it? Thanks!! :,)

I'm writing a piece of music heavily inspired by Frutiger Aero (starting with a very frutiger-aero-sound and gradually distorting/glitching it) and am looking for samples that I could use as a starting point. Would anyone here be able to point me towards sounds/samples that are very "typically" Frutiger-Aero-esque? (Preferably not an actual song with vocals, rather more instrumental/electronic/synthey stuff)
I've found a few things but just asking here in case people have other suggestions!
