Is an iud more likely to get embedded after a previous iud was embedded?

In 2019 I had an iud (paraguard) removed and my gyno at the time said it was "stuck in my myometrium." She got it out in office, but it required a lot of effort. I eventually got another iud (mirena) in 2023, and now that one is embedded (found on ultrasound).

My current gyno is recommending removing it in the OR and placing a new one at the same time. After two embedded iuds I'm a bit wary of them.

Is having an embedded iud more likely after previously having an embedded iud? I will discuss my concern with my gyno, but want to hear from others first. I might just ask for the nuvaring or something else instead.
