my 2.5 yr old got a hold of my airpod4's. I found one airpod and the case on the floor, but one is still missing

it's not connecting to Bluetooth nor showing up in find my....

is this normal?

or does this mean it's either gone in water or out of range (maybe Ive dropped it elsewhere without realising)

it's not been that long since charged so shouldn't be flat
