Book Immersion

How you ever been so immersed in a book that it makes want to go to that particular destination describe in the book or crave whatever the character is eating. For me it happens with a variety of books that describe a scene so well.

Had this happened to anybody? What book or scene from a book made you feel like getting up going to that particular destination?

I read books that had lighthouses as part of the story line and it gave me the urge to go and see one.

Recently I went through a historical romance binge. I read and listen to whole bunch of romance novels. Here are some of my favorite ones that left a lasting impression on me.

The Jewels of Halstead Manor by Kasey Stockton

A Haunting at Havenwood by Sally Britton

The Rancher Takes a Cook by Misty M. Beller

High country bride by Linda Lael Miller

Midwife of the Blue Ridge by Christine Blevins

Days of Gold by Jude Deveraux

Which of these books have you read? Which one did you like the most?

The The Jewels of Halstead Manor is my favorite one on the list. I am planning on rereading these at some point to see if they hold the same magic.

If you have not read any of these books which book did you read that left a lasting impression?

I finished reading The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn. One of the characters in the book is obsessively reading to try to get through the tumultuous times of WW 2. I came across this quote:

“I always go back to Jane Austen when I want to feel better about the world. She tidies things up for me.”

Which is now my favorite quote. I read it every so often to set myself right again. I began to wonder if there are any other such references to Jane Austen in books you have read? Please share.
