Paper towel clog - Coincidence or sabotage?
We had a plumber fix a supply issue, but to get to it they disassembled (the reassembled) the kitchen sink drain. A few hours later the sink backed up (it hadn't really been used yet). I disassembled the section the plumber removed and found the clog: an entire, intact paper towel.
The only natural path to that part of pipe is through the garage disposal. I have kids and we just had guests over, so I would believe that one of them got a paper towel into the sink and it got into the garbage disposal. However, wouldn't the paper towel have stopped there? I find it hard to believe that it made it intact past the disposal mechanism.
Is it possible for a paper towel to make that journey, or more likely that the plumber jammed it in there? (Cynically to get us to call him again, but more generously to perhaps stop it from dripping while he was working or something?)
