wplace on firefox slowing entire pc despite not using a ton of resources?
only been noticing issues with it in the last 2 weeks now, but realized that with wplace open, playing games in other screens would see drastically reduced performance, but if i closed the wplace tab i would go from 35fps in something like WoW season of discovery/classic to frame limit cap of 165 or from 76-ish in warframe to well... 165 again.
i run a 5800X3D, 64gb of ram and a 3080, i can't say i was expecting to ever see numbers that low, but wplace running in a tab, whether in the foreground or not seems to be the common factor. which seems weird, because as would be expected, there is almost no GPU load(it sits at 210mhz with wplace in the foreground, and jumps to well over 1800mhz under game load. at most seems to be using about 3% of cpu resources, and only seems to occupy about 600mb of ram... but while it's up, foreground, background, in a tab that's not in the front, it cripples EVERYTHING else...
not sure what's going on there, but might be something to look into on the dev side. assuming it's not already being looked into, but man it's weird that it's using so little but causing such a big problem
added note, closing and reopening the tab does seem to fix the issue temporarily. perhaps this is something to do with how windows 11 handles waking from sleep mode. i have in the past found all sorts of things don't seem to run properly coming back from sleep.
