Turbo power saver free prizes scam?
On my way to civil dispensary, a guy on bike started selling a product to me. I had noticed him that he was looking at me as I was entering the civil dispensary premises. I thought maybe he will ask for directions or something. First, he asked something about the place. I replied that it's a dispensary to which he said oh, I though this was some kind of government office.
Then, he tried to sell a power saver thing to me. A copy of the product shown in the picture. But from a different company.
"Bhaiya ko pata hi hoga power saver ka, insta pe bhi famous hai ye" Bhaiya refers to me here.
"Ye kya karta hai ye Ghar ke bijli bill ko kam kar deta hai. Pura to nahi karega par 40% tak bijli ye bacha dega aapki"
"Iske saath ek scratch card bhi milega. Usme kya rahega ki agar scratch karne ke baad blank aaya to ye aapko free me milega. Agar Chhota prize aaya to wo prize aur ye power saver dono free me milenge"
"Agar bada prize aaya to, bhaiya dekho aapko bhi pata hai company bada prize free me to degi nahi. Ye milega aapko bas 999 rs me. Wo aapko prize Milne ke baad paise dene honge. Pehle nahi lenge aapse"
Prizes contained led, laptop, etc.
"Mera bhi sales ka Target hai. Mujhe 100 cards scratch karane hai. 45 hue hai"
I asked how is company benefitting from this? He said, "ye marketing ke liye hai." Gave an example of red bull marketing campaign and jio campaign which also gave their products for free and gained name.
Company name was vtn faridabad. I think it was vipin telenetworking.
Is it really for marketing or some sort of scam? If yes, what are the details of scam?
He also started telling me unnecessary things about him. "Main khatu shyaam ko maanta hu. Khaatu shyaam ki kripa se 100 scratch card ho gaye to aapko bhi Prasad khilaunga."
"Aap meri help karoge to main bhi aapki help karunga jab aapko jarurat padegi"
In the end, I said to give me his number and I will call him after giving some thought. And he stopped his sales discussion right away and went away saying "chalo koi baat nahi, aapko nahi karna hai agar. Main force to kar nahi sakta kisiko"
