M4A1 stashed variant pet peeve.
no idea if someone else has already pointed this out on here but...
technically speaking the stashed M4A1 is not any kind of "M4A1"
it's some version(which specific colt model, i do not know) of the M16A1 carbine / CAR-15 mostly based off of the presence(and specific shape) of the receiver-molded, non-removable carry handle of the upper receiver and lack of a case deflector
on the "M4A1" platform all models have the flattop railed upper receiver - though 'early' variants came with a carry handle, it is easily removable and attaches via the rail in the same way an optic would
there are early M4's(non A1 version) with a fixed carry handle however they are a different type and all have a case deflector to my knowledge...
also the "M4A1 Buttstock" in game is not the stock of any M4 ever made - its the M16(non A1/A2) stock
i have no idea if the devs or anyone but me cares at in the slightest especially since there's something to be said for it just being a game and the whole 'alternate history' thing etc
but yeah i noticed it and figured id point it out at the very least maybe you'll find it interesting~
