Just shipped my first solo iOS app: Collie. A shared pet care app I built because my partner and I kept double-feeding our cats.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my first shipped solo iOS app and would love feedback before I push more updates.

The idea started with my partner and our two cats. We could never tell if the other had already fed them, refilled water, or cleaned the litter. Frequently double feeding (one is now obese and on a diet lol) and we always had to be asking each other to make sure things were done. We tried alarms, calendar events, a couple of generic task apps and other pet apps did't get it right.

Nothing really fits well as pet care routines can be random and flexible, like cleaning litters 2x a day, trimming nails bi-weekly, some meds every 28 days and so it goes.

A few friends with pets had the same problem and the same lack of options. So I built Collie!

What it does:

- Shared task list across the household. Everyone sees what's done and exactly who did it, in real time.

- First-write-wins on completions. Two people can't accidentally double-feed the same cat. If you both tap "fed," the second tap silently shows "completed by [name] at 7:05pm."

- Flexible recurring schedules: daily, weekly, monthly, one-time, every N days (for vet meds like 28-day flea cycles), every other week, and multi-weekday patterns. Up to 6 times per day on any task.

- Auto Start-Stop: pick a future start date and an optional stop date on any routine. Antibiotic course for 4 weeks? Flea meds starting next Friday? Set it once, Collie handles the rest.

- Medication reminders that escalate every 10 minutes for a full hour until the dose is logged. Always their own notification, never grouped with food or walks.

- Offline mode: complete tasks without signal, syncs the moment you reconnect.

Pricing:

- Free for up to 2 pets and 1 user. All five task types, basic recurrence, medication escalation, offline. Forever, no expiry.

- Plus is $4.99/mo (or $49.99/yr) and unlocks up to 10 pets, household sharing for up to 5 caregivers, and the every-N-days / biweekly / multi-weekday schedules. 1 month free trial.

I'm having a promo for the early users, 3 months 50% off

Try collie with early user discount!

Two specific things I'd love feedback on:

  1. What pet routine doesn't fit Collie's schedule types right now? I want to know where the model breaks.
  2. If you share pet care with someone, what's the single biggest coordination pain that an app could fix?

Hello everyone!

I've been working on this project for a while, just shipped it and would love to get some feedback from real users!

Me and my partner kept facing communication issues with the care of our 2 cats.
We always assumed the other already did or didn't do some of our pets tasks. Always double feeding (one became obese lol), forgetting to refill their water bowls or cleaning their litters.

We also have many friends that have pets and no one really had a good solution for this, except a bunch of alarms for not forgetting meds, calendar events or other random task managing apps that don't really do the job.

So I built Collie, a shared pet care tracker for households.

- Shared task list across your household so everyone sees what's done and who did it

- Live sync between members, with first-write-wins so two people can't accidentally double-feed

- Custom recurring schedules (daily / weekly / monthly / one-time, up to 6 times per day, every x Days)

- Offline mode: mark a task done without signal, syncs when you reconnect

- Medication reminders that escalate every 10min for an hour until completed

Free tier: 1 user, 2 pets, all the core stuff.

Plus: unlimited pets, household sharing (up to 5 members), advanced recurrence types.

Feedback will be extra welcome!

I'm especially interested in onboarding friction and whether the pricing feels fair for what's there.
