Vitamin D3 overdose… spontaneous recovery? What would you do?

Please no judgement. As you can imagine this is already very overwhelming right now, and I feel awful.

My boy Gumbo had a feeding Saturday, was normal until yesterday. He appeared to be on deaths door yesterday and today. All the classic D3 overdose signs. Weak. Lethargic. Twitches. Not coming out. Staying in the cool / wet hide. Difficulty holding himself up. Today, the ENTIRE day he came out -once- , wobbled over to his water looking confused, barely got one blep and wobbled back. I called 6 vets and the soonest I could get was tomorrow morning, an hour away, for $450.

I was reading up that a soak would be best because he’s definitely having trouble hydrating himself. WELL… Suddenly, you would never be able to tell he had any issues. Climbed right up onto me. Stood himself up fine. Strength and coordination 100% normal. Walking fine, no wobble. Breathing fine!!

Obviously I still intend to see the vet, but I’m wondering if anyone’s experienced something similar??? Also, there’s a vet who can do a home visit Thursday morning for $275. I save money, less stress taking him in the car that far, etc…

I love my boy. If I have to spend $100000 to keep him safe and comfortable, I will. If it’s actually possible that he’s already recovering and it can wait until Thursday, that would be ideal. Then I’d also have more $$$ toward the actual treatment. All factors considered, what does Reddit think? ETA: I’m essentially asking if it’s possible that he’s recovering on his own, or if this is not going to be resolved without a vet and if even though he seems fine, if postponing it will make it worse.

Water dish

I recently added more clutter and did some rearranging in my boys tank. This was really the only spot that worked well for his water dish. However, as you can see, he is now trucking directly through it each time he walks this way. I did try putting it to the left under the wood climbing thing I have but then when he climbs down he lands in it.

There is clearly room next to it for him to go around, but he doesn’t care. Through the water it is. Does anyone else’s geck do this and is it an issue??? Realistically I can’t go changing his water every single time he walks past.
