Hi guys! I’m looking for a smart way to mount and unmount rack units so that it is quick and easy to swap them.
Specifically I want to create my own rack to use for different scenarios and purposes: for example I’d like to be able to remove a drawer rack unit in the rack to replace it with another drawer or an analog preamp unit.
I’ve seen a couple of screw options in old threads on this subreddit but it looks like there’s no established brand between them, and I’m wondering if something new in the field has come out that I have not encountered so far.

Also, suggestions on something I should be careful about when thinking this type of modular-and-quick rack solution are very welcomed

I’m also thinking that a good alternative may be to just buy a rack case and place separate rack rails in it, so that instead of swapping units on the rack rail I can swap one whole rack rail with the units ln with another rack rail ready with some other unit.

Thank you in advance!

Hi guys! I’ve been working as a sound recordist for a while now, and I haven’t upgraded my boompole since I started.
I feel like it is now time to move to a pro solution and I’m thinking of an internally cabled pole with side exit for the connector: I’m getting more and more frustrated with wrapping the cable around the boom and with the need to handle the extra cable I don’t need when the pole is not at its maximum extension.
I think an internally cabled pole + a coiled cable from my sound bag to the pole would be the ideal setup for now.
I mostly do commercials and some docu features kind of jobs.
I’m also unsure about the full length of the pole I should look for: I current own a 3.3m pole that I pretty rarely use at its maximum extension.
I was looking at some K-Tek and Ambient poles but there’s so many options that I believe some recommendations from more experienced guys would be really helpful!
I will be having the boompole shipped to Italy, where I live.

It would be great if you could help me out with understanding what specs I should mainly look into and diving deeper into models and main differences
