Eragon's "true name"

When Eragon is in Gilead, Durza comes to talk with him and asks about his true name. Eragon, not wanting to give it and not even knowing it himself invents one.

>As he was about to utter it, he decided to take a chance and try to scare the Shade. He deftly switched a few letters, then nodded foolishly and said...“It was Du Súndavar Freohr.” Which meant almost literally “death of the shadows.”

I get how he's trying to scare Durza, but is there some significance to him switching some letters? Is it implied he was going to say a similar phrase, like "shadow of death", and then switched it to sound like it applies directly to Durza?
