Long Term Effects of Drive-thru Car Wash?

I have a five year-old car that I would love to keep in pristine condition for as long as I have it, which I predict to be the next 10 years. I have heard a lot of bad things about drive-through car washes affecting your paint. I live in an apartment building and in an area where I have no access or ability to hand wash my car. My question is how long does it take to begin to see visible effects of the destruction that the drive-through car wash is doing to my paint. Does anybody have long term experience using these car washes that they might want to share? I appreciate the feedback.

Finally Paid Off My Car🥳🎉

Gosh, nothing compares to this feeling! So I financed a Lexus RX 350 back in 2024 after years of having no car payments. I immediately regretted it. The payments stringed every month. After about a year and a half of just making minimum payments and seeing the principal barely dropping, I challenged myself to cut all other expenses and throw every penny I got towards this loan and pay it off within 6 months. I started in December, and here I am today, with a fully paid car. It’s the best feeling ever! I plan on keeping it for as long as it runs. No more car payments for me. When I’m ready to buy my dream car, I’ll be sure to save up and buy it cash.

Not completely debt-free yet, but I feel victorious just being able to pay this car off. I have some credit cards and student loans to clear, which I plan to do in the next 3 months or so. Can’t wait to be totally free!

Big thanks to Dave Ramsey and his wisdom. Wish I had discovered him sooner!
