I've never actually written a fanfic before, but I've been working on developing an idea of one for Arcane into an actual plot and outline.

Obviously I'm mostly writing it for myself first, but when it's done I would want to post it probably on ao3, and it IS going to be a series with for sure 2 stories planned.

So I'm just curious on how interested those of you who read arcane fanfics would be in a story that centers around a child OC? I mostly have seen OCs as characters that exist alongside the main characters from canon and less so focused on or centered around the OCs, or maybe just the fics I've read.

But what about a story where main characters end up meeting and taking in a child OC, that centers around mainly Vi, Caitlyn, Sevika, and minorly Ekko - all post canon of s2?

I'm curious what other fans (who actually read fanfics) would be most interested or intrigued to read when it comes to a fic like that. Are you more interested about the OC, about how Vi and Cait "parent", how Sevika would play into that or interact with the OC - or would you rather see a lot of Vi and Caitlyn’s relationship + what the setting/world is like post canon? How in-depth of the "world building" of the post canon setting do you prefer fics you read to be? How much focus on the main characters vs OCs do you prefer, or what would you turn you off completely?

Also any specific thoughts, opinions, headcanons around Vi, Cait, and Sevika in relation to kids/taking in a street kid are VERY welcome!

I'm always so interested to read all kinds of other thoughts, questions, interpretations because it helps me shape what I want to incorporate in my story or what I should consider for how I characterize and write!

I have a timeline and chapter plot layout/plan already made for a fanfic I want to write. It takes place 3 years post-canon of the show, and I've made some decisions about the main characters and where they are at as well as piltover and zaun after the end.

But I am really curious about other people's headcanons or ideas or even just thoughts and analysis of what they think Piltover+Zaun would end up being like after the show, or specific characters, etc.

I've read a bunch of fanfictions and seen various interpretations both for better and for worse for how the cities turn out, what job(s) Vi and Caitlyn do and how their healing/mental health and relationship develops, the Firelights and Ekko and what their role is or what they do after canon, not *too* much about Sevika to be honest mostly I see AUs with her. I would love to see people's thoughts or ideas on how her as a counselor would go, if she stays one, where she lives or what she does, etc.

Do you think Piltover and Zaun will have better relations after the war/end of s2? Why or why not? What does it look like to you?

Does Cailtyn ever go back to being an Enforcer or a position of power, why or why not?

How do Vi and Caitlyn heal from everything that happened and how does that impact their relationship? Especially Vi losing literally her whole family (besides Ekko) AND living in Piltover so losing her home? What happens when she finds out The Last Drop was burned down?

Does Sevika stay counselor? Is she able to DO anything for Zaun as a counselor?

What do the Firelights do or become after the war? Do they continue to target and try to take down or diminish the effects/operations of the remaining chembarons? Or refocus and help the community if Zaun as a whole and build up the tree base/sanctuary more and improve things in the city? Does Ekko try to use his genius for attempting to improve air water etc and the city in the ways he saw in the alternate Zaun? How does HE handle the loss of Jinx?

I am honestly just so intrigued and interested in what other people envision for the characters and setting post-canon and how those sometimes spark my own ideas or just give me really interesting and different "takes" to think about!
