For anyone considering buying Kayo, Apollo, Tao Tao, etc.

While enjoying lunch at the waterside park today, I heard a strange crunching sound approaching from the bike path. A man appeared riding this pit bike, which ground to a halt and stalled.

Now, I’m not a licensed motorcycle mechanic, but I’m pretty sure the wheel’s not supposed to do that.

The best part was watching him try to kickstart it for a couple minutes before trying to ride away.

For anyone considering buying one of these cheap pit bikes for your first bike, save yourself the hassle and get a used Japanese bike. You could probably ride a Honda XR100 through a minefield and come out fine. At a bare minimum, the wheels won’t fall apart on a paved bike path.
