First time catching carp… PB fish overall

Finally upgraded my crappy Reddington reel to a Hardy I got a good deal on last week, hence the intro.

Was not expecting to see a pile of carp in 2ft water, so I didn’t bring my net the first time (hence the line snap) my 4wt classic trout handled it surprisingly well.

I went to the car to grab the net and hooked the second guy right after. Still took 6 minutes to get it in lmao. I’ve never had a fish this large I think, what an exciting day.

This is also the first creek I fished on, almost a year ago—lovely creek before the grass gets up.

Unnamed drainage ditch on 135th street

Despite being mostly channelized, this section of unnamed creek is pretty alright—was producing much more than my last visit in October.

If you can spot the location shoutout
