A rather rough "animation" I made. Description and commentary on body text.

song – New Perspective by Panic! At The Disco

this video features John Quincy Adams. in the begining he shakes Henry Clay's hand. it then flashes back to Adams as the secretary of state with Monroe and Monroe's VP. then it shows John Quincy Adams in place of Monroe and Clay in place of JQA and Calhoun in place of Tompkins. then it shows a rather uncharismatic JQA leaving a charismatic Andrew Jackson rallying a crowd. then Calhoun and Jackson drag JQA out of office

the drawings were made in ibis paint and the song was added and the images were tweeted and sequenced in capcut.

I drew John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson... How quarrelsome

(the image is very vertical and I'm not sure how Reddit handles these things.) (sorry)

I was requested by a friend to draw Andrew Johnson!

it's Andrew Johnson, "Sir Veto", number 17... he's so interesting to read about.

it was crazy to learn about Andrew Johnson's past. He used to be an indentured servant, not crazily far on the social ladder from a slave. he was legally bound to a tailor for many years but he ran away before his term was up. he had a bounty on his back for many years. he grew up with a strong hatred for the upper class and that loud hatred was a large part of how he got elected in his early political risings.

it seems that everything in his life would lead to him having more empathetic and progressive politics, but he doesn't. the answer as to WHY he ruined everything is obvious and it's not smart to try to apply logic to me, but it's still baffling and immensely tragic.

Today is April 9th, and for that reason I felt like drawing Ulysses Grant in his Civil War uniform
