Training

Hi everyone,

I just got hired as a school bus driver. The company provides the training for the CDL. I already have a permit and relevant endorsements, but my question, how many hours per week do you get during training for the CDL license?

Transitions

Hey guys,

Quick question. Is going from a school bus driver to a transit bus driver a pretty natural transition? The only thing I’ll need to get is an air brake endorsement. Already have the passenger and school bus endorsements. Anyone have any experience with this?

Pre trip inspection exam

Hi guys,

I recently was offered a position as a bus driver through Durham School Services (after I complete their CDL course). I’ve heard the pretrip inspection can be difficult so I’d like to get a head start. Are there any study guys and such you recommend?

Hi guys,

So I just got a 1 year DOT card. My employer obviously conducted a preemployment drug test. After 16 days of ceasing to eat THC gummies, I went to an occupational health clinic as a “pre” preemployment test and passed. The test was a 6 panel dipstick test. I went to Concentra to take a my actual preemployment drug test 3 days later and they are sending it off to a lab. Do you guys think I’ll be alright?

Hi guys, so I got my CLP, bus and passenger endorsements on my own. I’m applying with Durham school services. Haven’t got a speeding ticket in over 3 years but have a false report misdomeanor conviction in 2015. Durham seems like they need bus drivers, however, do you think they’ll hire me given this info? My interview is tomorrow.

Hi,

I need to grade my property in Alaska this summer. I do see a few low spots but overall it’s graded okayish- the water from breakup season is away from the home. I’m thinking about laying down some fabric and put some gravel on top and grade the gravel using a skidsteer and rake. Question is- do I need to fix the low spots on the soil before I lay down the fabric? Or can I just grade with the gravel to keep the water away from my property?

Hi everyone,

So, I was able to get a two-year DOT physical. I failed the ishihara colorblind test, however, the doctor gave me a practical test afterwards by pointing to a few colors on the wall that I was able to differentiate. I’m worried that when I need to get a new DOT card in two years that I’ll get another physician who will just fail me and then I’ll lose my career. Is there anything I can do?

Hi,

Quick question: so luckily I passed my DOT physical for my CDL license. One of the exams they do is a colorblind exam. I failed the ishihara but then the physician did a practical exam, and I passed. I saw these colorblind correcting contacted lenses from ColorKind- CCG-088. Does anyone have any reviews for this? Do they work? Have they helped you pass the ishihara? Thanks for your time everyone.
