ISO LinkedIn Networking/Connections

Happy Thursday!

I know part of this sub is for student networking. We have all heard a million times that the job market is terrible and it’s hard for tenured paralegals to find roles currently. A lot of us also are transitioning out of our already established careers and may have insight on more non traditional legal or legal adjacent roles that may be of value.

Would anyone be interested in connecting on LinkedIn for moral support while we complete our programs and, ideally, providing support and ideas for career opportunities post-completion?

If so, maybe we could have a dedicated post of people who are open to this and could facilitate DMs to other individuals interested in networking.

Please feel free to send me a DM if you are interested!

Fire & Theft salary

I currently work as a fire & theft auto adjuster and have for several years without much room for growth at present.

For those of you in the same role or who have previously been, what does your salary look like?

ABA-Approved Programs

Hi all,

I am currently attending Hamline’s post-BA paralegal certificate program remotely. I live in Ohio but chose this program because it appeared that they assisted with networking/internship/placement. I was initially going to go to University of Cincinnati for it but they did not appear to assist with the internship aspect.

As it turns out, Hamline does not have any official process for internships for the post-BA program.

Looking for online/remote ABA-approved schools that actually assist with internships/field placement. Columbus State Community College is local to me but their website indicates they may or may not assist with this.

Thank you!

Internship Help

Happy Tuesday - I’m currently remotely completing a post-BA paralegal cert program at an ABA-approved school.

The school has Handshake access for networking but so far, the majority of opportunities listed do not seem relevant or legal adjacent. Beyond this, it does not seem like they assist in placement for an internship.

I am on LinkedIn and have started beefing up/curating my profile to transition away from my current role in insurance.

How are you all locating internships or entry-level roles? I would prefer it to be paid but do not mind unpaid if it is absolutely the only option (or a really solid career-building kind of experience).

Any websites, apps, programs, recruiting firms, insight/perspectives would be appreciated.

Thank you!
