This is looking like the likely scenario for Shanks and Luffy reunion. Maybe not dead but definitely a defeated shanks
I believe BB has Lafitte spying/trailing the strawhats. I believe Lafitte was the one who informed BB that a gorusei was on egghead so he could dispatch Devon to steal his look and had van augar use his warp ability to get her there quickly. Lafitte will inform BB of imu being on egghead, and BB will go since beehive is close to elbaf. Shanks interferes, gets bodied, but survives for him and luffy to meet so he can tell him about the nika fruit and what roger told him. BB proceeds to elbaf and steals imu fruit.
Shanks won't be around for final war as an active pirate. Joyboy level haki my ass.
