One last trip in August before Schengen visa expires — ideas?

My Schengen visa is about to expire, and I have time for one last 9-day trip in August before it does. About 10 years ago, I actually started my Europe travels with Dubrovnik, so it feels quite special to potentially end this chapter there as well.

Since then, I’ve explored Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Austria, and parts of Croatia (Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik), as well as Prague.

For this final trip, I really want something memorable—beautiful, meaningful, and a bit different. I usually travel solo (female, mid-30s), and I enjoy safe hiking, nature, history, culture, slow bits, and good food.

I’ve been considering a few options:

- Slovenia + more of Croatia

- Poland

- Slovakia

- Or possibly Romania

I loved Dubrovnik and wouldn’t mind ending my trip there again, but I also want to explore new places.

My only concern is whether these destinations might feel underwhelming compared to what I’ve already seen. I’d really appreciate suggestions—especially itineraries or combinations that would make this last trip feel special and memorable.

Also open to any other country or destination suggestions that you think would be a great fit for this kind of trip!

Thanks in advance!
