I'm documenting the living traditions of West Bengal's underrepresented communities for a heritage project — specifically the plains and western plateau belt: Rarh, Jangalmahal, and the Sunderbans.

I'm looking for:

Community-level detail on groups like Bhumij, Mahali, Lodha, Munda, Poundra Kshatriya

Craft-based communities where occupational and ethnic identity overlap (Tanti sub-groups, Karmakar, regional Kumor variations)

Ethnographic or linguistic maps showing people-and-language pockets — not political boundaries

Field notes, local publications, dissertations, or personal accounts all welcome. Sometimes lived knowledge carries more truth than the academic record. Thank you.
