Hemaglobin?

Hello

Does anyone know the impact of having HB of 92 and in American terms 9.2 long term?

I have no symptoms from it but wondering how bad is it to have this long term?

I am a male so baseline HB for me normally would be 130 or in American terms 13.

Thanks

Kidney transplant or medication?

Hello

I am a young kidney patient. I have a genetic condition where I grow kidney cancer tumors in my kidneys due to this condition my right kidney has been removed and part of my left kidney has been removed I am now left with part of one remaining kidney. This kidney has further tumors but they not at the size yet required for surgical intervention. Once they do meet the size required this part of a kidney will need to be removed and then face dialysis and waiting list for a transplant or a living donor transplant.

The medical team have suggested a medication that is meant to help stop the tumors growing but this medication causes anemia as side effects and due to it being NEWLY approved no one knows long term effects at all. You will need to take it life long or for as long as it helps keep the tumors from growing but once tumors start growing option goes back to surgery to remove the kidney and go on dialysis or living donor transplant . My choice of dialysis would be nocturnal daily at night while I sleep if I couldn’t have a transplant but we do have a living donor who is a 5/6 match with me. I do have a concern with the drug as the drug is very new and has unknown long term effects.

I would appreciate if people could advise what they would likely do in this situation and how transplant and dialysis has been for them etc?

Salaam

Is Tajweed compulsory?

I can read Quran and read the Arabic word with Harakat correctly.. I was given the below as a list that is compulsory.. can someone help me understand which parts are compulsory and not?

  1. Makhārij (Correct Pronunciation of Letters)

This means saying each Arabic letter from its correct place in the mouth or throat.

Examples:

* ق is not ك

* ص is not س

* ض is not د

* ح is not ه

* ع is not أ

A beginner must first learn:

* throat letters

* tongue letters

* lips letters

* nasal sound (ghunnah)

This is the most important foundation.

  1. Madd (Stretching Letters)

Some letters must be stretched.

Letters of Madd:

* ا

* و

* ي

Basic rule:

Stretch for 2 counts

Example:

قَالَ

يَقُولُ

فِيهِ

Teach them to avoid reading too fast.

  1. Ghunnah (Nasal Sound)

This is the humming sound from the nose.

Mostly found in:

* نّ

* مّ

Example:

إِنَّ

ثُمَّ

Hold it for about 2 counts

  1. Qalqalah (Echo/Bounce Sound)

These letters “bounce” when they have sukoon:

ق ط ب ج د

Easy way to remember:

قطب جد

Example:

أَحَدْ

يَجْعَلْ

الْحَقّ

The sound should lightly bounce—not exaggerated.

  1. Noon Sakinah and Tanween Rules

This is one of the most important beginner topics.

When you see:

* نْ

or

* ً ٍ ٌ

there are 4 basic rules:

A. Iẓhār (Clear pronunciation)

Read the noon clearly.

Letters:

ء ه ع ح غ خ

Example:

مِنْهُ

B. Idghām (Merging)

Merge the noon into the next letter.

Letters:

ي ر م ل و ن

Example:

مِن رَبِّهِم

C. Iqlāb (Change)

Change noon into a hidden “م” sound before:

ب

Example:

أَنبِئْهُم

D. Ikhfā’ (Hide)

Hide the noon sound slightly with ghunnah.

This happens with the remaining letters.

Example:

مِن شَرِّ

  1. Meem Sakinah Rules

When you see:

مْ

important beginner rule:

Before ب → Ikhfā’ Shafawī

Example:

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ

Read with nasal sound.

  1. Heavy and Light Letters

Some letters are read heavy (full mouth):

خ ص ض غ ط ق ظ

Example:

صراط

Others are light like:

س ت ب etc.

This helps pronunciation greatly.

  1. Stopping (Waqf)

Teach beginners how to stop properly.

Usually:

* stop at ۝

* stop at م

* better not to stop at لا

And when stopping:

harakah often changes to sukoon.

Example:

الرَّحِيمِ → الرَّحِيمْ

Best Teaching Order

Teach in this order:

  1. Arabic letters properly

  2. Madd

  3. Ghunnah

  4. Qalqalah

  5. Noon Sakinah + Tanween

  6. Meem Sakinah

  7. Heavy/Light letters

  8. Rules of stopping

Hello,

I have been made redundant and role being offshored. The industry is within financial crime compliance.

Are people noticing redundancy across the fin crime industry and any advice on where to focus or change career etc?

Thanks

Hello,

I currently work in fin crime compliance and have built up several years of experience in this area. I am now considering whether to be within sanctions or transition into a KYC-focused role.

I would value insights from professionals working in financial crime, particularly those with experience in either or both areas. How do the roles compare in terms of career progression, skill development, and long-term opportunities?

Thank you in advance for your perspectives.
