perysmith Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Review
Product accuracy / usage experience:
Take note of the caveats before buying this. This is a cordless vacuum, so do not expect it to perform like the bigger wired vacuum cleaners. Convenient siya, yes, pero may trade-off talaga sa suction power and battery life.
For ordinary dust or light dirt, single press is okay. Pero kung gusto mo ng mas decent na suction, you really need to double press or use the stronger mode. Doon siya mas nakakakuha ng alikabok, hair, small debris, and litter dust better. The problem is, once you use the stronger mode, mas mabilis din maubos ang battery.
I usually charge this for around 4 hours, and the usage time is roughly around 25 minutes on normal mode. If you use the stronger suction mode, cut that almost in half, around 12 to 15 minutes depending on how you use it. This is the main limitation of these battery-powered cordless vacuums. They are handy, pero hindi sila pang whole-house deep cleaning.
I used this before around my cats’ litter box area. It helped for quick cleaning, especially kung may sand or litter na kumalat. Pero eventually, I stopped using it as my main vacuum for that area because the time limit is annoying. Pag marami kang lilinisin, bitin talaga siya.
The handle is okay. It fits my hand well, and my hand is medium-sized. Hindi siya mabigat, so easy siyang bitbitin and easy ilagay sa sulok-sulok. Good siya for small spaces, quick pickup, shelves, corners, car interiors, or light daily cleaning. Pero kung heavy dirt, maraming cat litter, or large floor area, doon siya talo.
Another thing to check: if the vacuum suddenly stops working or parang ayaw na mag-charge, do not assume agad na sira yung vacuum. Based on experience, the charger can be the weak point. A friend thought his vacuum was already dead, but when I brought my charger, gumana ulit. Charger lang pala ang sira. Medyo mahirap lang hanapin minsan, pero check the voltage and wattage requirement of the original charger and match it properly.
For electricity consumption, the cost per charge should be very low. Cordless vacuum chargers usually consume far less than big appliances. For example, if the charger pulls around 15W to 25W for 4 hours, that is only around 0.06 to 0.10 kWh per full charge. Using the May 2026 Meralco household rate of about ₱14.3345 per kWh, that is roughly less than ₱1 to ₱1.50 per charge. So electricity cost is not the problem here; the real issue is battery runtime and suction power.

I give it 3.5 because it works, but only within its limits. Good for small quick cleanups, not good as your main vacuum if you need power and long cleaning time.

Yes, mura siya, and for the price, I can see why people buy it. But take note before purchasing any cordless vacuum like this: battery-powered means limited runtime and weaker suction compared to wired vacuums.
Sulit siya if you only need it for quick cleaning, cat hair, light dust, small corners, or emergency pickups. Hindi siya sulit if you expect it to clean like a heavy-duty wired vacuum.

Overall, I give it 3.5/5.
Maliit lang rating ko dito because while it is useful and compact, it is not that great in actual long cleaning sessions. The good side is maliit siya, easy hawakan, easy itago, and okay for fast cleaning. The bad side is the battery. Kaunting minuto lang gamit, then charge na naman. If you use the stronger suction, mas mabilis pa maubos.
For cat owners like me, it can help around litter box areas, pero kung marami kang cats or marami kang lilinisin daily, you will probably get annoyed with the battery limit. For me, wired vacuum pa rin if serious cleaning. This one is more of a backup or quick-clean vacuum, not the main warrior.

Product accuracy / usage experience:
I actually have two of these Island Elephant luggage bags in different sizes, including the 20-inch one and a larger size. Got both from Shopee.
Looks-wise, accurate naman siya sa product photos. The obsidian black color is the same, and the overall appearance matches the listing. No big difference sa picture.
For real-world use, okay siya. I’ve used it for out-of-town trips, bus trips to the province while scouting properties for my boss, and even for flights. I’ve used it with Cebu Pacific and PAL with no major issues so far.
Also, no bad smell when opened. Walang weird factory smell or chemical smell, which is a plus for me, lalo na if you’ll place clothes, gadgets, or travel items inside.
Funny extra note: my cats love sleeping on it when it’s opened. Very comfy para sa kanila, especially my white cats. So I guess even the cats approve the lining and interior feel. 😅
Weight:
One thing to check lang: if you plan to use the 20-inch as hand-carry, bantayan yung weight. The luggage itself is around 3.5 kilos, so if the airline is strict with hand-carry allowance, medyo bawas agad siya sa allowed weight mo. Some airlines can be meticulous with this. I personally had no problem using it with Cebu Pacific and PAL, but still, better to check before flying.
Durability:
Durable enough naman siya for regular travel. I’ve taken it to the province and around Southeast Asia-style travel situations. I’ve also seen this kind of luggage being tossed around in NAIA, and so far, no major damage sa structure.
But please check the pictures: the scratches are really there. Since obsidian black siya, mas obvious yung marks. Main con talaga sa akin is that it scratches easily, especially kung checked-in or hinahagis-hagis sa airport handling.
Wheels and movement:
The wheels are one of the better parts. Smooth siya, easy to turn, and can handle quick turns without feeling awkward. Madali siyang imaneuver sa airport, bus terminal, mall, or hotel floor. For the price, the wheels are really good.
Storage and pockets:
The pockets are useful, and the layout is practical. It can carry drinks of different brands, but don’t expect it to fit very large containers perfectly. A Hydro Flask can fit, check pictures, but it’s not a perfect fit. It may move around because the bottom part does not fully sit into the housing of the Island Elephant compartment.
Inside, okay din siya for organizing clothes, small items, gadgets, and travel needs. May decent separation and useful sections, so hindi siya basta plain empty box lang.
The interior also feels clean and usable right away. Since walang smell, I didn’t feel the need to air it out for too long before using it.
Laptop / device feature:
It also has a useful laptop/device section built into the luggage. Good siya if you travel with a laptop and want easier access without opening the whole luggage. Nice touch ito, especially for work trips or when you need quick access sa device.
Locks:
This part was a headache at the start. Took me a while to figure out the locks. You need to put the old number first, then use something small like a toothpick to change the code. Once you figure it out, okay na, but at first medyo nakakainis siya.
Delivery:
Arrived fast, and the box had no damage. 5/5 here.
Sulit:
For the price, sulit siya. It does the job well, especially if you want something affordable but still decent-looking and useful. It also comes with free stickers, which is a nice small bonus.
Overall:
I’d rate it 4.4/5. It’s on the cheaper end for luggage, so I don’t expect it to be as tough as the more expensive brands. But for the price, it works well, rolls smoothly, has useful pockets, and can handle regular travel.
If you can afford something more expensive, there are definitely tougher and more premium luggage options out there. But if you want something affordable, functional, and good-looking, this Island Elephant luggage is still a good buy.
Bonus cat test: when opened, my cats like sleeping on it, especially my white cats. So aside from being luggage, apparently it also passes the cat comfort test. 😅
