Bulk or Cut? 6ft 4 210lbs (95kg) - I'm unsure what to do. I still have big love handles..

Had the upper leather of my RM Williams boots punctured a couple of days ago after some metal shrapnel stuck out at a train station that went straight throug the boot.

Has anyone had something similar happen? Can this be repaired by a cobbler/RM, or is buying a new pair the only way?
