I’d like to find out about career prospects for women in commercial diving. If I work hard enough, will it pay off?

I’m new to Reddit, so please do let me know if I’ve said anything inappropriate or come across as rude. Many thanks to everyone who’s replied; now let’s get down to business.

I’m a 21-year-old woman looking to find out about the job prospects and current situation for saturation divers or commercial divers. I’d like to ask: if I complete a commercial diving course with the Australian CDA or the US DIT, will I be able to find work? (Taking the Australian CDA as an example, if all goes well, I plan to complete Parts 1 to 3 of the course. Will this level of qualification allow me to find work as a dive assistant or similar role in Australia and elsewhere?) In short, I don’t want to waste my tuition fees. My ultimate goal is to become a saturation diver, but I’d be happy to start as a dive assistant. I just want to ensure that, upon completing the course, I have a clear idea of whether I’ll have a chance of finding work. (I know the industry may be slightly male-dominated, but I really love this field and want to give it a go – please give me some advice! Your opinion is invaluable to me.)
