So happy, i did it! I went for the Xbox look which I like it a lot! JSAUX white shell.
Tks for this community, reading the experiences here gave me the confidence to do it! Also, few points to everyone thinking on doing it:
Remove your SD card!
Watch a lot of videos first, very helpful and build your confidence
Sort your screws, most videos don’t show the sizes.
Don’t be afraid when removing / putting together R2 buttons. You need to put some pressure otherwise will not come out.
The screen was not bad at all, honestly. A hair dryer and the tools that come with the JSaux was more than enough. The tip here is the plastic thin rectangle to use to pry, once you get it in, move to the corner of the screen. Once the plastic is behind the corner, was quite easy.
Another tip: take your time removing the remaining glue while the screen is still hot. Or apply more heat to help remove. Don’t ever use metal of any kind to try to remove the glue. Only the plastic tools should be use to avoid scratching the borders of the screen.
If using the storage mode before disassembly, don’t panic if don’t turn on immediately. It takes up to 10 minutes for first boot (and don’t forget to use the original charger to connect)
In my case, after 10 minutes the screen was still off. After panicking a little, did some research and notice the green light near the storage, indicating it booting (or at least there was activity). Them I connected to external monitor and was showing ok. So was able to check the problem was the connector of the screen or motherboard connection. So turned off and recheck all the connections again and voila! Working!!
That’s all folks, I really enjoyed the process!
