Stage 1 ALT - UK
I recently had stage 1 pediculed ALT with Mr C and thought I’d share my experience. I had phallus creation done (next stage will be urethroplasty using my forearm).
I am almost a week post-op and luckily recovery has been okay so far. I was able to get out of bed on day 3, climbed a flight of stairs on day 5. I was relatively fit before surgery and they did not have to cut deep into my quad to get to the blood vessels, two things which I think have massively helped my recovery. I have a high pain tolerance and so pain has been very low for me, no more than slight aches/discomfort.
I’ve not yet had a chance to measure but my graft site was 16 cm x 12 cm, and of course things might change with time.
The team has been wonderful and I have no regrets.
If I could give any advice I would say to buy a litter picker/grabber tool (the only thing I can’t do right now is put on my socks). That was the only thing I’ve seen on other lists that I was on the fence about and wish I’d have gotten
