Is anyone actually using AI in their home service business? What's working?

There's a lot of noise around AI right now but not a lot of honest conversation about what's actually useful for tradespeople running real businesses. I've seen it mentioned for writing estimates, following up with leads, scheduling, and even helping with job descriptions when hiring. But I want to hear from people actually using it day to day.

What are you using, what trade are you in, and is it saving you time or just adding another thing to manage?

What's the most confusing part of getting licensed in your state or country?

Licensing requirements across trades and regions are all over the place. Some states require separate licenses per trade, some bundle them, some barely regulate at all. If you've gone through the licensing process, what tripped you up the most? Exams, insurance requirements, bond amounts, renewal timelines?

How are you handling pricing conversations with customers who think you're too expensive?

One of the hardest parts of running a home service business isn't the work itself, it's justifying your rate to someone who just got a cheaper quote from a guy with no insurance and no license. How do you handle it? Do you explain your costs, walk away, or meet somewhere in the middle?

Share your trade and region. Pricing conversations look very different depending on where you operate.

What's one tool you bought this year that actually paid for itself?

I'll start. Picked up a cordless impact wrench mid-year and it cut my job time down significantly on installs. Paid for itself within the first two weeks. Doesn't have to be expensive. Could be a $30 app or a $500 piece of equipment. What's the one thing you bought this year that you'd buy again without thinking?
Drop your trade and region too so others can see if it's relevant to their market.
