I lost my mom over the winter. This song is for her.
My mom passed away from cancer late last year, after many months of suffering. About a week before she passed, this song spilled out of me. She never got to hear it.
It has been so long since I’ve released new music - 15 years - that I can’t help but feel excited. Yet at the same time, I wish I had never written this song, and I wish my mom was still here. This song has been my therapy since I lost her. It’s how I am keeping her with me every single day.
My mom was a warrior, fearless until the very end. This is a tribute to her strength and resilience.
