Practicing at home

I find it easier to start by arranging in my hand like a bouquet. But then I feel like my vases end up too dense. Im aware you should start with a grid/greenery but for some reason I go blank and don’t know how to keep going, cut the right lengths, or know where/how to place the rest of my blooms, and I then I get so frustrated. Would love any feedback or tips. Thanks!
