Anyone else seeing unusual but eye catching Kickstarter watch adverts on their feed?
It's a really bad idea for them to be advertising here... 😂
For those asking, it was this:
I just thought - someone in this sub will see it, and then...

I'd never heard of him, but just read a review of his latest: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2026/jun/09/the-end-of-everything-by-m-john-harrison-review-near-future-visions-from-an-sf-master

Anyone familiar with him? How has he lurked in my blind spot for so long?
Very pleased with it so far. ~28 hours - down to 95% battery.
Buttons feel lovely.
Watchface is Crisp, but will probably switch back to AWW1 as we're enjoying a typical UK summer.
Still on the old watch and old app - PT2 on order and it's on its way.
So I use Bobby for timers and alarms, which is brilliant. I've also tried to use it to set reminders, which is... not so brilliant.
The issue is, when the reminder is due, Bobby goes bzzz - a standard timeline reminder - and that's it. If I'm busy, I don't notice.
I was hoping that either the new watch or app would have a customisable timeline reminder - it needs to be *in my face*, and something I have to cancel, ideally - which will make Bobby the double-killer app I know it can be. And it'd make me appear to beess forgetful :o)
Is this an option on the new app or the new watch?
Seeing some users popping up complaining of short battery life for new watches.
@Pebble Team - What we need is a standard "known" config for new users to apply to the watch for the first few days to identify battery issues early, to assist early diagnostics, accompanied with advice to contact support if they're seeing battery life worse than x days/hours.
It means you'll get fewer false positive reports of battery problems, and earlier resolution for those with real battery issues, and would prevent users running over the lamentably short warranty period and the reputational damage this would cause to Pebble.
We also need responsive and reasonable support staff to address issues early rather than be awkward and be pushing back.
The watch has a thirty-day warranty, which means we've bought this watch *on trust*. Help us to diagnose issues early.
Edit: haven't had my watch yet, but the number of posts talking about poor battery and struggling with support suggests there's not much clear guidance on diagnosing issues early.
u/WizardofWaffle dropped a Zonecore story in here which I will catch up with, but it inspired me to mention a child of the r/Stalker sub, r/TheZoneStories. Some great stuff, some standalone, some multi-part, some dramatised actual play...
When browsing through the main Stalker sub, I found myself seeking out these stories, where the author stays in character as though in a fireside retelling.
Some good stuff you've got there, r/TheZoneStories. Some pretty good shit.
Edit: have we got a list of friendly subs that we recommend on the about pages - Stalker, Fallout etc?
I've come here from the Stalker sub. Assuming you're a friendly faction. I'm going to reach for a Metro question - don't shoot....
Played all three games, loved all three, *but never played the DLCs*. I don't have much free time, so which ones should I focus on?
I'll put the question here on this table and back away.
