don't know if this type of posts are acceptable in the sub cuz this is just sort of announcing that im reading an urdu book.

so pt. ratan nath sarshar wrote this novel b/w 1878 and 1883. it's really long (some 3k-4k pgs idk) my main motivation for reading it is to have a deeper understading of (uppercaste) muslim society of UP before they completely fell. in particular, i am interested in how caste played out in that society. im 60pgs in, and it already appeared like a dozen times.

the other reasons could be its beatiful prose obviously.
