Does this bush have winter burn or is it something else?
I’m in central NC area. Several of my bushes look a bit sick this year. I’ve never seen these bushes look this bad in past years, so I’m not exactly sure what’s going on. They usually stay pretty green all year round. I’ve been trying to do some research online/chatgpt, and I keep getting to a diagnosis of “winter burn”. Does that seem accurate?
First pic is the most recent after I trimmed it back at the end of March and put fresh mulch down. Pics 2, 3, 4 are from early March with more leaves. Pic 5 is from 2 years ago in June.
I believe they’re a type of Gardenia, but I’m not 100% sure. I’m thinking about applying an all purpose fertilizer to see if it helps. I’ve never watered the bushes and they get about 6 to 8 hours of light per day.
