450nk Transmission Question

Keep in mind I am a newbie and could be overthinking it, but still a concern.

This has happened to me twice now in the past week where, after stopping “slightly” hard (truly not hard at all), the bike will not shift gears. For context, this is what I did right before it happened:

- pulling up to a light from 5th gear and stopping in a way where I had to hold the clutch while braking until I came to a stop, so I hit the shifter down a few times to get into first.

- I was holding in the clutch the entire time until I came to a complete stop

- the number indicating which gear I was in disappeared and the bike would not shift for a second.

- it finally did after a second or two of being stopped and worked fine.

The only other time this has happened was when I did something similar and practiced stopping quickly in a parking lot.

Is this a safety feature of some kind? Should I take it to the dealership to get checked out? Am I good to go and should just ignore it?
