ApoE4 carriers, please help

ApoE4 carriers, please help

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a semi-retired anesthesiologist and an ApoE 3/4 genotype with some other risk factors for both vascular disease and dementia. I am, understandably, very interested in our risk as ApoE4 carriers.

I have been giving this a very deep dive of late and have some hypotheses about the pathophysiology of ApoE4 as it relates to the vascular endothelium. I have developed preliminary tools (biomechanical rheology formulas) that I believe will help quantify our risk and provide a guide to reduce that risk.

I would like to run a quick retrospective study to validate these tools prior to embarking on a larger study to investigate potential treatments. I already have a treatment in mind—an oral supplement that is readily available—but I need to ground the math first.

I am looking for a group of about 40-50 E4 carriers (3/4 or 4/4) and approximately 10-15 ApoE 3/3 controls. I am seeking volunteers to anonymously provide the following information:

ApoE Genotype (3/3, 3/4, 4/4)

LDL Particle Number (LDL-P, nmol/L)

ApoB (mg/dL)

hs-CRP (mg/L)

Small LDL (Small LDL-P)

Average Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP)

Average Resting Heart Rate (RHR)

Average Heart Rate Variability (HRV – preferably rMSSD in ms)

Approximate Altitude of your primary residence.

Active Interventions: Any specific meds or supplements currently used for lipid and vascular health.

Ideally, averages should be calculated over several days (7 days is best), preferably around the time your labs were drawn. If you have historical records, providing up to 3 sets of these data points would be incredibly valuable for tracking trends.

I have decided to be as proactive as possible. Please consider helping me to advance the science.

I will be setting up a simple, anonymous Google Form to gather this info and will be ready to collect data in the next few days. I would like to first check and see if there is interest in advancing this science and identify any hesitation folks may have sharing this information.
