can supplements be as potent as antidepressants?

i suffer from chronic anxiety and depression, the worst feeling i can get is hyperactive amygdala this is the worst.

SSRIs work great for treating anxiety and depression but my question before the invention of SSRIs how people were able to cope with depression and anxiety, i believe that they used supplements from nature to cope with it.

people who have tried supplements can natural supplements beat antidepressants when it comes to anxiety or I won't.

do have chronic fatigue with brain fogg or only brain fogg?

I'm 28 years old and male.

i had chronic fatigue and brain fogg ,tried everything also forgot to mention all blood tests are okay also immunity blood tests.

i can accept brain fogg but can't accept chronic fatigue , i believe I don't have CFS because I don't have post exertional malaise ,i get slight improvement after taking antidepressants but for first few weeks then they don't work for fatigue even after increasing the dose .

i haven't excluded fibromyalgia or sleep apnea .

please guys what do you think i should do ???!

i suspect that I have fibromyalgia, done all blood tests all are normal also i suffer from chronic fatigue and sensitivity to pain sometimes that is unexplained by blood test

but there is something i noticed that in these harsh days that i feel small pain that bothers me i tend to drink alcohol very small amount once I do it physical pain goes away for long time maybe at the end of the day, of course not too much to the point where you get hangover only 1 shot thats it .

i suffer from unknown disease that makes me tired all the time and also i have brain fogg all the time, all blood tests are okay except vitamin d(no improvement after taking 10k daily for 2 months)

I know with certainty i have depression and anxiety so i gave antidepressants a try they worked with depression and anxiety i won't say i got full improvement but better than nothing but they failed to solve this persistent fatigue and 24/7 brain fogg i mix up words alot and i stutter more than usual also I'm unable to work right now and i suffer from inability to sleep sometimes everyday i take sleep drugs.

what i have noticed that I'm very sensitive to pain when I'm extremely tired and also my pain is always in muscles not anything else, going out requires a huge effort sometimes i force myself and most of time i don't .

don't you think guys its more likely that i have fibromyalgia I'm so sensitive can't sleep very tired and always have constant brain fogg.

the thing i noticed that alcohol is the only thing that gives me power and short term solution don't worry I won't get addicted.

disclaimer: I'm not asking for diagnosis I want you guys to share your experiences.

i read that taking antidepressants wrong way might won't work, i have been taking 150 mg for month this was max dose but i get partial improvement no full improvement that makes me functional in society depression and anxiety decreases but tiredness doesn't, should i look for TRD or i should ask my doctor to try augmentation strategy.

i noticed that no matter what i do i get partial improvement ,the good side my depressive episodes become less and anxiety decreases by the time, but this is called partial improvement, my body responds well to zoloft i reached 150 mg ,my question what should be the next step should it be augmentation or looking for another class .
