I rented a car in Kagoshima but got into a minor accident with my side mirror clipping a post causing minor damage to the mirror cap (the post was fine btw). The Kagoshima police responded to 110 and took an accident report and I reported it to the rental agency. I do have primary rental car insurance through my CC but I might need a police report or a traffic accident certificate for that process.

For this, do I go to the local police box in the area that responded to the incident to ask for this? Not sure of the procedures to get one and how difficult it is to get one. Searched everywhere online and the information is somewhat confusing.
