Where to do AT?

Trying to find answer or advice of where the best route to take to fulfill my AT requirement for the 26’ fiscal year.

Just got out of A school in March, attended indoc at my NRC April and had first actual “drill weekend” this month.

However, I submitted a TRUIC change to a different command just recently.

Don’t have my Navy email yet or a government travel card so I cannot apply to opportunities on Zipserve.

I know I should definitely get my email and government travel card before going on any AT’s. But just wanted to see if anyone had any advice as to if I wait until getting gained by my new command through the Truic change or once I get my email, apply for AT’s outside my rate?

Thanks

Do I stick it out?

Writing this after another long exhausting week and I’ve been mentally fighting some QOL debates about my current work situation.

Backstory goes like this… I left a good comfortable stable company for a gamble on a start up that’s been rapidly growing. The offer was for more $ and opportunity to be apart of something cool and learn new skills.

Ended up taking the opportunity 7 months ago and after 2 months into the job, I had to leave for military orders.

The job was cool when I first started and was on track to work on cool projects that I found technically interesting. Hours were “flexible” and having a small balance was doable.

Fast forward to now, after returning to the job from my military leave, my position was basically backfilled by 2 others who started the week of my return. I am now put into a different department in the company due to “business” needs and haven’t been finding much fulfillment there.

Now mandatory overtime and barely any connection to my current management makes it seem like I was
pushed to the side and I’m not finding enjoyment in the work I do for the long hours I put in.

Has going on leave and returning to your company to find things completely different that you didn’t feel like you initially signed up for sound familiar to anyone? Is this poor leadership on my management side?

Yes I’ve spoke with my management and they basically narrowed it down to business need.

TLDR: Went on military leave, returned to work and was replaced/moved to a different department. Not finding interest in the current work I’m doing.

Still grateful to have an opportunity to work so I’m not writing this from an ungrateful standpoint.
