wedding is in early fall, major US city. Dress code is “cocktail: ostentatious welcomed, bold colors and patterns encouraged”
thrifted this amazing iridescent hot pink/purple early 00’s prom dress that fit like a glove. I had it shortened to tea length to be more cocktail appropriate. The dress has already been approved by bride who said it was perfect for the theme.
I’m stuck on styling. I know these aren’t the right shoes, I just threw them on for the photos. My gut is to lean into the Y2k inspiration for styling but I don’t want it to feel too on-the-nose.
I’m thinking strappy sandal heels to add some sexiness / youthfulness, but what color? nude? silver? something a little kooky or betsy-johnson-esque since bold an playful is encouraged?
hair up or down? bold necklace or earrings? bangle? should I do more costumey jewelry or should I go with my nice stuff?
