I tried searching this sub and last one was a few years ago talking about how they hoped it would be released by 2026 since a bunch of others were. Just curious if anybody has heard anything.

Hi, I'm in NYS (no fault if rear-ended state), and I have a 2025 Crosstrek Premium after being rear-ended by a DD. I've never owned a Dash Cam before, but after my experience, I'm a little paranoid about not having a Dash Cam of any kind.

An aside, I was always very careful to pay attention to what was in front of me while driving, and my world was kind of blown up by the notion that people behind you are also a major problem because after almost 25 years of driving, I've never had a problem with being rear-ended.

Anyways, I'm looking at Dash Cams and I like a few of them (VIOFO A229 Plus, VIOFO A119M, Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3), and I keep going back and forth about how useful Front only or Front and Back are. I like the smaller ones for concealment's sake, and the bigger ones with the screens are kind of annoying but seem to have some good reviews. Also, how annoying is installing the rear camera part if I decide to get one with both front and back?

Any recommendations/input would be appreciated. Thank you
