Jerma kind of touched on something that annoys me about chat and culture in general lately

I'm watching the RE9 final stream and he remarked on how exploring the RPD station he felt like he couldn't comment on remembering stuff too much or react too much or chat would mock him. He picked up Jill's beret and went "Oh it's--" and *visibly had to "correct" himself* to have a more understated reaction.

In another recent stream, a Tomadachi Life I think, somebody called him a Tuber or a Redditor or some shit for something he said and he sounded genuinely annoyed when he said "I'm just a guy talking to you, man".

I don't actively engage in chat because I mainly watch VODs and, well, for obvious reasons it seems like it just sucks half the time. But just hearing Jerma field comments and snark from people paints such an obnoxious image. Everyone wants to put something in a box or make it a stereotype and act like they're so savvy about tropes or whatever. They think they're so clever for recognizing that yeah, sometimes media will revisit prior entries to evoke a reaction. 🤯

It just seems exhausting. It's like the next evolution of the snarky media bullshit CinemaSins ushered in. Everything's a Reddit this or a Tuber that or you can't remember anything too fondly or you're engaging in "member berries" or something.

Am I the crazy one here? Why not just let people be and like what they like, react how they react and feel what they feel?

Edit for some clarity:

I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of responses here but one common thread I see from a few people and wanted to address is the idea that I'm projecting onto Jerma or trying to protect him or something. I cited two things he explicitly said (feeling like he can't react too much, "I'm just a guy talking to you"), and noted one thing I thought I perceived but definitely seems like a bit in hindsight (the beret thing). By no means am I trying to assert how I think he must feel on his behalf. I mentioned a couple specifics from him but by a wide margin I'm just talking about how annoyed I am by chat (and not even exclusively chat, I tried to make it clear I think chat's attitude is a symptom of a wider problem but the broader issue isn't as relevant to this sub)

This is 90 per cent a "Why do people suck so much" post and maybe about 10 per cent a "It must be miserable to deal with this" post. Jerma's been doing this over a decade, he's dealt with plenty of bullshit and I know he doesnt need me clutching my pearls. I'm just saying this is a feeling I get seemingly at least once a stream at this point- not enough to ruin my experience or put me off watching, I just find myself rolling my eyes- and hearing Jerma say something about it was a little satisfying. I didn't think he was super pressed, I didn't think he was about to cry, I wasn't wanting to rush to his side and shield him like a wilting victorian lady.

Didn't mean to turn this into an essay on top of an essay but I like to yap, sue me.

Is this good for anything?

Just had this drop from Bartuc. I've never geared with mythic uniques in mind so I don't know anything about them other than that the +ranks to all skills is generally good.

Is there anything I could do with this on a Paladin? I'm playing a wing strike build and really enjoying it. If it's better suited for another class entirely I might give it a roll. Idk, what would you do with it?

This is my first active album cycle as a HEALTH fan despite being casually aware of/liking them since Death Magic. I've always been a little confused by how they do things and this period seems particularly convoluted.

So I get how there's Rat Wars, and Rat Wars had a deluxe edition.

And I get how Conflict DLC is like a companion to Rat Wars- perhaps a disc 2 of a double album- and I *think* the R-Type series is collectively more like literal "DLC" to Conflict in the sense that you might think of video game DLC.

But what is Addendum? And why does it have tracks that were already in Rat Wars Deluxe?

I've heard Elden Ring metaphors used to explain but I'm a scrub and don't play those games.

Please help it's all very interesante but I'm too stoopid 😵‍💫
