Quilling Cards

I learnt to quill a week ago and have been working on my skills since then! I’ve made these two cards in the last few days with mentoring from my neighbour! They had a few different techniques from the first card which I enjoyed learning. I think I’m going to enter the first card into the handmade card section at my local show next month! 🫶🏻

My neighbour taught me how to quill today! It was my very first time and it was a bit tedious. It took like three hours to make this card. However, I did find I enjoyed it as the final product is stunning enough to be worth it. This does not apply for the little orange roses as I have personal beef with them. My neighbour said they were supposed to be the easiest ones but I found them the hardest.

I think next crafternoon we are going to quill again and try some other styles. Such as making leaves and more loose flowers.

Hi! Sorry, I have no idea if this even fits the guidelines but I want to know if sending a card to someone would be appreciated or would be found weird/creepy. I very recently bought over 250 sheets of different high quality cardstock off Facebook marketplace. She was on older lady and told me how she used to make cards but she didn't anymore. I assured her that I would be making heaps of cards with them and that I was so grateful to have found bulk cardstock. She gave me some more stuff that wasn't included in the listing for free and was so so nice. If it makes any difference I was visiting a friend so I would be posting it as I live like two hours away. I really want to but I also don't want this lady to think I am a creepy stranger. Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Thank you so much for all the comments! I will be making and sending her a card!

All the paper and other craft stuff (for reference)

I’m hoping some people have read the book/watched Project Hail Mary (PHM)!!

I made Rocky and the Hail Mary (spaceship) by hand then chalking/colouring them in. Pretty much most of the decorations were dies but the circles were all punched. I chalked them all so it was quite time consuming!

I can’t wait to post this to my friend as he loves PHM so I think he will be so shocked! And I’m so so pleased with how it turned out, like over the moon.
