Pivot cups wearing down quickly(?)
Hey everyone!
For some context, I have chaya cozy wine rollerskates, and I replaced the pivot cups once before—in december (I don't know if this matters, but I got the skates in late October and used them a bit indoors due to the cold and rainy/snowy weather, but I stopped after a short while because I fell over and injured my hand. I later tried again, but noticed my skates were creaking, especially during turns, which is why I eventually replaced the pivot cups)— haven't skated much since, but I started skating more again as the weather got better, so used them outside probably once weekly (maybe skipped one time though, not sure) for about a month. I usually skate for hours at a time, though. The thing is, my pivot cups are already coming up from their place (kind of) and one is visibly torn.
Is this normal with relatively light usage? I'm not doing anything fancy, mainly just practicing balance- and edge skills to get the fundamentals. (I'm a beginner on quads, these are my first pair.)
I know they're supposed to wear down after a while, but on average how long should it take? What can I do to preserve them for longer?
Thanks for any input!
