I want to start from a tuolomne meadows trailhead on Thursday but it says every single permit in the entire park is booked through Friday.
I can’t believe this. Are they actually all taken? Or are they just not releasing them online until Saturday of Memorial Day and it’s still self registration?

Hey everybody, just looking to see if anyone has insight on what to expect for snow this Memorial Day. Last year I day hiked it. Pretty heavy snow getting to long lake then just impassable after.
I got a permit for overnight this year and we’re planning to base camp at long lake then do day hikes from there (chocolate lakes, nearby scrambles, etc). Do you guys think this is realistic?
Has anyone been there lately? How is the snow? Is it there really so much less than last year?
