I got into DMS, but after my interviews I had some very unforeseen life events happen that really impacted my physical and mental health. I feel uneasy about starting Fall 2026. I have reached out to student services and the program coordinator, both said that my deferral would guarantee my spot. I'm still not sure if it's the right thing to do. It doesn't exactly... make sense, you know? What if there is an applicant with a better interview score than me? Both reassured me that NAIT would honour my spot. Does anyone have any insight?

EDIT: I haven't applied yet, I'm just looking to do so.
