Ranking the books in order of least bad to most bad

The Netflix show is so, SO much better than the books imho. I genuinely think that was one of the worst series I’ve read. Anyway, here are my short opinions that no one asked for:

  1. An Offer from a Gentleman (Benedict and Sophie): This one was my favourite of the series. I quite enjoyed the angst and tension.

  2. The Viscount Who Loved Me (Anthony and Kate): I think my opinion of this is slightly tainted by the show. In the books I did like how Edwina was happy for the two of them and how she wasn’t done dirty.

  3. When He Was Wicked (Francesca and Michael): Steamy, which is why this is high on my list, but I honestly did not enjoy Michael’s character much.

  4. On the Way to the Wedding (Gregory and Lucy): Might have been higher on the list if she hadn’t written the last chapter about childbirth because what does she mean that Lucy just sighs and pops out a baby?

  5. It’s in His Kiss (Hyacinth and Gareth): Went downhill after he planned to compromise her just so she would have to marry him. The last clue was also so simple and obviously pointing to the bathroom.

  6. The Duke and I (Daphne and Simon): Friend Daphne and not Diamond Daphne was weird to me which is why this is so low on my list.

  7. Romancing Mister Bridgerton (Colin and Penelope): BORING - took me so long to finish but none of the characters were really distinctively unlikeable unlike the other books.

  8. To Sir Phillip, With Love (Eloise and Phillip): Most hated character of the lot. I truly loathe Sir Phillip and genuinely hope the Netflix version will be better. Eloise deserves better fr.
