Studying psychology as a high school student, will my mental health background effect me getting into clinical psychology?
I plan on going to university for psychology and then doing all my studies after schooling and the hours needed to become a registered therapist, but I do have a background of being sent to many social workers and at one point being admitted to the youth psychiatric ward in the hospital for a week and a day or two more. Will this in anyway mess up my chances of getting into the field? If this helps, I was admitted voluntarily for schizophrenia (weird situation where they basically pressured me to admit myself and had this hostile attitude when I said I didn’t want to). Although they haven’t diagnosed me I am medicated by my therapist and family doctor.
